Pulling in to LA

 Posted by Picasa

Took this shot on the way home last night. I found it became a much more interesting image when I changed it from color to black and white. Some how the smog is more attractive in black and white.

Iron and Lace

Posted by Picasa

I've had a lot of trouble with my asmtha lately, so I haven't been able to go out to take any photos. So It's mostly bee just photos of our room and bathroom. I've also decided to shoot in black and white mode of my digital camera. I really liked the way that this one came out.

Parts is Parts

This is the collection of parts that I took off the carlton so I can restore/repaint the frame. I don't know why but I love the look of a box full of bicycle parts. So that the image was more interesting for everyone else, I made it black and white and enhanced the shadows.

What's old will be new again

This is one of my current projects. It's a 60's Carlton 5 speed bicycle. It has a "flip flop" hub on the rear that will allow me to turn it into a single speed very easily. I got it last summer at a yard sale for 4 bucks. I know some people would look at it and tell me I over paid, but I think it is beautiful. It is now currently being lovingly restored to it's former glory. Hopeful when I am done I will have a brand new 40 year old bike!

Cool Cars

Yesterday I went to get a coke out of the refrigerator and what do I see? The Little Boy subscribes to the barter system. He left two cars and a rock for an apple. But he'll be back for the cars later.

Spinning Lights

This morning the Little Boy and I where playing with the camera. He is always so cute in the mornings after a good nights sleep. So he was well rested and ready for some mischief. He was playing with his "Spinning Flashlight" that we got from disneyland a while back. He loves to climb under the covers and play with it. He suggested we take a picture of it, so we got the tripod out and took a couple of shots.

Wired

I don't know why, but I really like this shot. Something about the hard lines from the wires and the pole with the contrast of the soft lines of the clouds.

Old Guard/New Guard

I was asked what I meant by Old Guard and New Guard. Old Guard would be film cameras, and New Guard is digital cameras. Since I used my Pentax Spotmatic II which is completely manual, to take a picture of my Lumix FZ20 digital camera, that has some amazing point and shoot features as well as letting you adjust settings manually.
